How We Work
We approach each project with a visual-first methodology, believing that aesthetic consideration should drive the design process from the outset. Our practice spans product and industrial design, graphic design, and photography, often combining these disciplines within a single project. Through Union Atelier, our Taipei-based studio, we actively synthesize international design trends with Taiwanese cultural traditions and craftsmanship—bringing a distinctive perspective to every commission.
We're particularly interested in projects that challenge conventional thinking, whether through form, function, or concept. We've worked on everything from bespoken client projects to experimental pieces that question everyday assumptions. If your brief aligns with this exploratory spirit, we're keen to collaborate.

Sending a Project Brief
When reaching out with a commission or collaboration proposal, please include:
- A clear description of your project, its context and objectives
- Your target audience or end user
- Timeline and budget parameters (if established)
- Any visual references or examples of work you admire
- Your preferred method and pace of communication
- Information about your organization or background
The more specific you can be about your vision and constraints, the better we can assess whether we're the right fit and how we might approach the work together. We believe in transparent conversations early on—understanding your values and design philosophy helps us determine if there's genuine alignment.
Response Times & Expectations
We aim to respond to all genuine inquiries within two weeks. For commissioned work, we typically begin with a discovery conversation to refine the brief, followed by a proposal outlining our approach, timeline and investment.
For press and media: We're happy to discuss our work, provide images, or participate in interviews and features. Please allow time for us to gather materials and coordinate responses.
For students and researchers: We support emerging designers and value conversations about design education and critical practice. Reach out if you're working on a thesis, research project or seeking mentorship. We may not always be able to take on formal advisory roles, but we're generally open to discussion.
For collaboration proposals: We work with other designers, makers, manufacturers and creative practitioners. If you're interested in exploring a partnership, tell us about your practice and what you imagine working together might look like.

We're currently based between Taipei and London, which gives us a unique vantage point on both Asian and European design contexts. We're interested in projects that benefit from this dual perspective, as well as work rooted in either location.
